Januar einen Workshop zum Thema \u201eWhy to fight against dictatorship at high personal costs? Studying political activism and its leadership in autocracies\u201c an der HSFK in Frankfurt.<\/p>\n<p>An unserem Workshop nahmen 18 internationale Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler teil, die die vielschichtigen Aspekte politischer Proteste und ihrer \u201eAnf\u00fchrerschaft\u201c sowie politischen Aktivismus in Autokratien in f\u00fcnf verschiedenen Panels diskutierten. Gleichzeitig bot das Zusammenkommen Raum, um die eigene Forschung vorzustellen und theoretische Fragestellungen und Forschungsdesigns weiterzuentwickeln. Der Fokus des Workshops lag auf Demokratisierungsprotesten und deren Mobilisierung in zentral- und osteurop\u00e4ischen L\u00e4ndern sowie asiatischen und afrikanischen Staaten. Besonders hervorgehoben wurde dabei die Rolle von sogenannten \u201emoral shocks\u201c und anhaltenden Menschenrechtsverletzungen in Bezug auf die Motivation f\u00fcr politisches Handeln. Zudem wurden institutionelle und wirtschaftliche Faktoren als zentral mit Blick auf die Bereitschaft zu politischem Aktivismus diskutiert.<\/p>\n<p>Basierend auf den Diskussionen und Erkenntnissen des Workshops verst\u00e4ndigten sich die Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer darauf, in Zukunft das Verh\u00e4ltnis zwischen F\u00fchrung und b\u00fcrgerlich-politischem Aktivismus verst\u00e4rkt in den Fokus zu r\u00fccken.
