From May 18-19, the EDP Network hosted the authors workshop on the topic of “Democracy Promotion Negotiation” at the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF), which is part of the Leibniz Association.
In the two days, we discussed the papers of our network members and guest researchers (agenda) in four intensive and constructive sessions which included exciting insights into the discussions about “Democracy Promotion Negotiation” in Nepal, Ethiopia, Morocco, Tunisia and Latin America. At the end of the workshop we agreed on the next steps as well as a timeframe, and were able to discuss further questions and details during dinner.
We were especially pleased that we could welcome Andrea Ribeiro Hoffmann (Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro) from Brazil and Prakash Bhattarai (Center for Social Change, Kathmandu) from Nepal among many other scientists from near and far. Andrea Ribeiro Hoffmann will stay with us for a week as a guest researcher at PRIF and we will also host Prakash Bhattarai in our institute until the beginning of June.
We would like to thank the researchers who participated in the workshop in Frankfurt and despite the high temperatures and the sometimes very long journey have enriched it with interesting papers and constructive contributions.
We are looking forward to an exciting special issue!
