Felix Haass
Former EDP Network Member
Felix Haass is a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Oslo where he is a member of the ERC project “Emergence, Life, and Demise of Autocratic Regimes” (ELDAR). His research focuses on societies after war and autocratic politics.
Felix is particularly interested in the role of development aid in democratization processes after civil wars, bureaucracies and indoctrination in autocratic states, and the legacies of war on political and institutional development. Other research topics include peacekeeping, natural resources in civil wars, and politics within the UN Security Council. To conduct this research, he combines quantitative research designs with innovative data sources, such as archival records.
Before coming to the University of Oslo in 2020, Felix was a researcher at the German Institute of Global and Area Studies (GIGA) in Hamburg, the University of Osnabrück, and the Arnold-Bergstraesser Institute in Freiburg. He received his PhD in 2017 from the University of Greifswald.
