Her research interests cover a broad range of areas pertaining to autocratization and democratization processes, with special focus on economic sources of regime (in)stability. Before joining the V-Dem Institute, Marina worked on several research projects at the Hertie School and the German Institute for Economic Research, where she became passionate about bridging the gap between academic research and policy domains.
