On May 24 and 25, our network members came together at the German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE) in Bonn for a regular meeting. Two key issues shaped the agenda:

1. As our current funding phase under a Leibniz Association grant will come to an end in 2019, we discussed a draft for a follow-up funding application as well as the future direction of our joint activities.

2. We also discussed an already successful grant application by one of our members who works on legitimacy and state building, and we shared thoughts on a draft application by another member focusing on legitimacy claims in democracies and autocracies.
