
Rebecca Wagner

Rebecca Wagner is a political scientist and works as a coordinator for the EDP Network since May 2019. She is a doctoral researcher at the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF) in the department “Intrastate Conflict”. Her dissertation focuses on shrinking civic spaces before and after elections. Her research interests lie on international democracy promotion, electoral assistance, civil society and the role of youth in elections. She is currently involved in the research project dynamics of interaction in the contexts of shrinking civic space.
Before joining the PRIF and the EDP Network, Rebecca has worked with civil society on democracy support and human rights in particular on the engagement of civil society in democratic processes in Brussels and Berlin. She is also trained and experienced in international election observation, both, with civil society and international organisations.
Rebecca received her academic training in Public Administration and European Governance at Leiden University, the Netherlands, in Political and Administrative Sciences at University of Konstanz, Germany and in International Relations at Bogazici University in Istanbul, Turkey.
