Research findings on internet shutdowns to be visualized in graphic short stories

On 1 December 2020, the new project #Keepiton – A graphic journey from internet architecture to shutdowns” was launched at the University of St. Gallen. It aims to address crucial issues around internet shutdowns such as the relationship between states and telecommunication companies. The results will be published in a series of five illustrated short stories drawing on the ongoing research on internet shutdowns in African countries.

The project is carried out by EDP network member Tina Freyburg, her colleagues Lisa Garbe and Vero Wavre from the University of St. Gallen, as well as the graphic artist Pia Valär. It is supported by an Agora-grant by the Swiss National Fund.
