Sonja Grimm Named Member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the HE Project ‘InvigoratEU’

Prof. Dr. Sonja Grimm has been named Member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the collaborative research project “InvigoratEU: Invigorating Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy for a Resilient Europe”.

The InvigoratEU project, funded by Horizon Europe (2024-2027), examines the EU’s enlargement strategy in a shifting geopolitical landscape. It explores how to address external geopolitical ambitions in the Eastern Neighbourhood and Western Balkans while revitalizing the EU’s foreign policy toolkit in an era of heightened military threats. The research integrates modernization and geopolitical approaches to EU enlargement, generating novel data through a Ukrainian public opinion survey, scenario development, an external influence index (focusing on Russia, China, and Turkey), and a social policy compliance and cohesion scoreboard. This ambitious initiative brings together 18 partners from 16 EU and non-EU countries, fostering civil society engagement through a network established by InvigoratEU
