From mid-February until early March, Johannes Gerschewski (HU Berlin) is Julia Leininger’s guest at the German Development Institute (DIE) in Bonn. During this staff exchange among network members, Julia and Johannes discuss the status of current research projects. Julia and Tina Freyburg, associated EDP member at the University of St. Gallen, are in the process of preparing a paper for the upcoming DVPW conference in Tübingen. In their article, they inquire into the type of societal basis needed for successful democracy promotion. While being at the DIE, Johannes works on a volume that he co-edits, “Crisis in Autocratic Regimes”, which is set to be published with Lynne Rienner in the fall of 2017.
